Fear of the unknown can leave us trying to control outcomes and solve problems that have not happened. But God invites us to surrender tomorrow, remember His faithful character, pray honestly, and trust Him with today. We do not need to see the entire path to take the next obedient step. When fear comes, we can place the future in God’s hands, knowing He will be with us whatever happens.

Joshua 1:9 reminds us that true courage does not come from confidence in ourselves, but from trusting God’s presence and faithfulness. As Joshua prepared to lead Israel into the Promised Land, God called him to move forward in obedience despite fear and uncertainty.

In this first Treasures in the Text post, we look at Colossians 1:16 and the powerful truth that all things were created through Christ and for Him. This verse reminds us that Jesus is eternal, supreme over all creation, and worthy of our trust, worship, and attention.

Paul and Silas show us that praise in hardship does not depend on easy circumstances. Even in prison, they worshiped because God was still worthy. Their story reminds us that God can use our painful seasons for His will, and Jesus is the source of eternal joy. When gratitude feels hard, we can hold fast to the truth that our salvation is secure and our hope in Christ is everlasting.

Job’s story reminds us that faith does not mean hiding our sorrow. After deep loss and suffering, Job grieved, questioned, and wrestled with pain, yet continued turning toward God. His example shows that strong faith can look like worship through tears and trusting God’s wisdom even when life does not make sense.

Habakkuk 3:17-18 reminds us that joy is not dependent on perfect circumstances. Even when everything that once felt secure is shaken, we can still rejoice in the Lord. Gratitude may feel difficult in painful seasons, but faith helps us hold fast to what is eternally true: God is faithful, our salvation is secure, and our hope in Him cannot be taken away.
